Friendship & a chick !

So like I said in my previous post , I had to experiment with the new papers that I got. I had been playing around with this particular stamp of this really cute bird with a cute sentiment to go with it for many months unable to find the right fit for it.

The right colors never came to mind and like 3001 other projects, that too has been sitting on the backburner. Until I decided that I was going to use this really swirly elegant distressed pinkish paper. I have given it shades of blue just to compliment it or else it would really feel very pale. So we have 3 different types of paper, all used for the first time !! The stripes, blue thatched print in the foreground and ofcourse the base as the pinkish swirls ! Nice, I am already feeling good about this card. I designed the layout according to the sketch and then worked on devoloping the different elements. I have used brown as the highlighting frame for all the pieces. I have a picture to show you how I let the pieces rest before I finally lay them together. Ofcourse, like most my cards, there are brads, buttons, flowers and lace to highlight the card.

This card enters a few challenges  :

The sketch coincides with several challenges with similar design of sorts:
