How to build a hanging succulent container from upcycled cans and wooden skewers

Do you know that one thing almost every crafter says in his/her mind, when he/she goes shopping in a home accessories store ?

“I can make that !!”

Yes, I had such an “I can make that” moment when I was browsing a highend home decor store online, too.

The one I saw only carried a single circular container, however I decided to make it taller and with 2 more additional containers.

While I have used a mixture of E6000 and hot glue to adhere, the ring to the top of the hanger, I decided to reinforce it by wrapping a twine around it. Something very sophisticated about twine and the color, black -wouldn’t you agree ?

My family is incomplete without my six cats and where there are cats – there is no dearth of cat food cans. My cats love tuna hence the cans just fill up the recycling pile in my kitchen, rather quickly. Infact, I have posted several DIY projects in the past, with upcycled tuna cans here :-

  1. This is just beautiful! I love it! I am featuring your project on this week’s Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop on Ducks ‘n a Row. Everyone will love it ♥

  2. So creative and pretty! Thank you for sharing at Embracing Home and Family! The way you use things that others would discard is inspiring!

  3. This turned out really pretty! I recently got some succulents from my mother-in-law for my home office but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to display them. I might just have to give this a try. It would look beautiful in there with everything else (where my furniture is all a more modern black look) with the right black paint job!

    • Thank you. So glad you liked it. You could also try to place them in decoupaged cans. I have several posts on those too. Thank you very much for dropping by.
