Cards for valentines in Dubai

This is my 7th card in this series. I feel, creativity and art is highly influenced by our moods and emotions. Almost all the cards, I have designed for this season, has been based on love and carries a focal element : hearts. I suppose, its to do with a state of mind, plus a seasonal influence.

Elements include :- Diecut heart, 3D floers, metallic brads, faux stitch, diecut oval, rhinestone, design/pattern paper, flower, digi stamp of stub.

Allo friends ! So whatcha been up to ??!!

I am in high spirits today. Its been a constructive day ! I am super delighted that Doodle Buddies’ cards will now be hosted at Organic Foods and Café. What makes it more special for me, is that I have complete belief in their motto and ethics. I am so glad, my art work will be displayed and appreciated at all their four supermarkets and café !!

Allah swt blesses us with just the right amount of encouragement to keep the struggle on. On 27th January, I was featured in Gulf News’ My Guide, on Arts and Craft. It was totally an honor. I have been featured in a couple of newspapers and magazines before and have one TV interview on Chanel City7 under my belt. But quite honestly, with every feature, comes a renewed joy and belief to keep up my creative endeavors. Two huge news – I am totally humbled. What’s more wonderful, is that it came as a complete surprise !!

And then I had a brush with reality when I entered the studio and realized, I had been putting-off the clean up process for nearly a month. That room, is in complete chaos and desperately seeks my attention. So that will be on my priority list now (well, in all honesty, it has been on that list for sometime now, just don’t remember where I misplaced that list 😉

Okey dokey ! So that’s that about my brand new news 🙂

Onto the 14cards 14days series :- Today’s card is rather simple yet sassy.

Elements included are :- Design/pattern paper, bow/ribbon, polka dots, banner diecut , rubber stamp, rhinestone, glossy paper for three hearts. If your wondering, where did I pick this glossy heart paper from ~ DONT !! I picked these glossy hearts at Ikea in December, I think, they were meant to be Christmas tree decoration, but obviously, I had other ideas !! wink wink 😉

I love everything about this card – the swirls in the design paper, the pearls, the polka dot ribbon and that glittering heart ! There’s something really stunning about having a pop of red in a mixture of black and white ! The sentiment is something, I feel deeply for my husband !

Challenges, Friendship cards

Friends and flowers.

Dear friends,

First off, I am so so happy to be back and connect with all of you’ll.

I know, I have been neglecting this blog for a couple of months but with good reason, I promise.

Not only the scores of restoration projects in the house but also in the courtyard and garage kept my hands full ~ literally ~ of spray paint and acrylics. And then ofcourse, November/December are my peak months for craft classes as well as fairs. I have totally enjoyed the 6 fairs I participated it back to back thru out December ~ not to mention the greeting card orders that kept coming my way, until I had to stop being polite and refuse some of the orders. Ok so noooooow, I can hear some of you asking, how did I manage to stuff so many projects at one time ! Well, there you go ! Now you understand why this lovely blog, was being so neglected. Having said that, I now have heaps of projects to share with you’ll.

Well, for one thing, my newest best-est friends are power tools ! Yes, I mean, the electric jigsaw, sander and drill machine. Since almost two months, I have been having a complete blast chopping wood, sanding the pieces and drilling holes in them. I have been making wooden plaques and I just cant begin to tell you just how much fun it has been playing with paints and patterns. I have heaps of projects to show you but thats ofcourse for a later post. Again, I hear you, asking me, how I had the time to get involved in a new hobby !! Well, what can I say ??? Thats Naush for you. When the going gets tough, I get so enthused about trying out so so many creative avenues. To be very honest, I think, its abnormal raging hormones ! 🙂

This new year brings with it a promise ~ a promise of change. Whether a change is for the good or for the worse is for time to prove and our own attitudes to see the glass half empty or half full. But I have always felt, change, especially when it is not gradual, is always for the best and its easier to adjust. I look forward to making a few crucial decisions and I look forward to a few crucial decisions made FOR me by the Almighty. And I totally look forward to making more and more new friends.

For some of you wondering, how come, I dont reply in the comment column. ~ well, I actually do. I write back personal messages to the person concerned on their email address which is supplied while she leaves a message for me. These comments are very close to me and are food for my creativity. You guys who visit me so often and leave so much love behind are priceless for me. Honest.

I had to submitt around 80+ new cards for samples and I wished to share some of the surplus designs that I had made in the past 2-3 weeks.

This card here, has such gorgeous colors. Nothing like the green grass and being sourrounded by spring flowers and jewelled butterflies. The cute angel mom/lady tending to her garden is a digital stamp from my dear friend Nikki of Melonheadz. The ribbon is one of my newer additions and so is the Martha stewart border punch. Awesome heart warming sentiment which is digi stamp cut by oval diecut. I know, this could also be an ideal valentines card, which is just around the corner. Imagine receiving such a lovely message from a friend.
