Hello friends.

If you’ve been following my blog, then you already know that I have been having so much fun designing these awning cards. The possibilities with these cards are endless. You can have a store window display of ANYTHING from a library to a¬†bakery and everything in between !!

Today my card is another Awning card, with a store window display of some purses.

Awning card in Dubai 7

Some of the elements in this friendship card include :- awning, pastel colors, diecut flower, diecut banner/tag, digital stamp sentiment, Martha stewart border punch, polka dot design paper, pastel shade tiny purses (the stool on which one of the purses is resting, is also a diecut )

Hope you like this card and appreciate it as much as the previous awning cards too.

I am entering this card, in the following card challenges :-

Handmade Greeting Cards in Dubai ~ 10

Hello friends ! I am continuing the 14 days 14 cards series. This being my 10th card.

valentines cards in Dubai

This is an awning card for a boutique/window display.

Elements/techniques in this card include :- Dry embossing, rubber stamping: flowers, border punches, design paper, pink brads, die cut oval, sentiment: digital stamp. Each one of those vases are paper pieced individually and distressed, copic markers on flowers. The awning itself, was a lot of effort. Had to cut stripes of pink and add to the white portion to give it an awning-like appearance. Plenty of layers involved here. Perhaps, becoz I tried this technique for the first time, I took a long time to design and dress it up.   I just love how it turned out !

No sentiment card, Something inbetween

The elegant card.

This is the third card in the card making kit series. Since I had to use the sketch, there was little scope for adding any dimension apart from what was provided. Hence it has plenty of pretty flowers and an intricate polka dotted butterfly.

I know, its very unlike me to keep a plain background but I prefered to keep a plain backdrop and fill color and design with the DP provided rather than keep a designed background and plain colored flowers and swirls.  All said and done, I think, this card is the highlight of the series.

Hope to read your thoughts on this card.

I wish to enter this card in the following card challenges :-

Friendship cards

3 tags.

I love how this card turned out ~ especiall with its rich and vibrant summery colors !  I have almost never used tags over tags so thats a first one for me. Ofcourse I have used border punch and the butterflies are also punches used with some Tim Holtz mist sprayed to add a dimension to them. It is also from the new card kit series.

New Year ~ New Home.

Feels so good to get all that feed back from all the lovely design team members of all the card challenges, that I join.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me and all your encouragement.

This next card is naturally for a new home. Very simple digital stamp sentiment. Dont you just love that window ?? I do. Those tulips are just adorable. Any color could¬†do justice to them. ¬†The window image is also a digital stamp. I’ve used my new diecut to set the sentiment over. The design paper is also a first time for me. Love the feel of that mustard against a green backdrop.

I know, its whimsical thinking, but I do so hope, I have to give myself this card as, at the rate I am going with hoarding the scores and scores of craft supplies, it wont be long before which, all the rooms in the house are going to have my surplus supplies lying around ! Yeah, thats true, I’m so guilty of having so so many things piled up in the studio these days that its simply impossible¬†to find anything ūüė¶

Thats why, It gives me a great sense of relief and pleasure, that I am not the only crafter who is struggling with excess supplies ! Its such a joy when others are also complaining helplessly about the one to many crafty must-haves they have collected.

Let me stop brooding now and let me bid farewell to you guys for today.

Thank you for visiting me today. While your here, I hope you browse thru some of my previous creative adventures. And if you like something, please leave some love behind in comments.

Rest well this weekend.

Challenges, Friendship cards

Friends and sunshine.

Love the rich and royal blue about this card. Its such an eye catching color. The digital stamp of the window with the gorgeous flowers is ofcours a digital stamp as is the sentiment diecut. The pink bows are the only 3dimensional element since I felt the colors reached out so I did not feel the need for more 3D elements. The sky blue fabric paper is embossed with golden dots. All in all, I love this card and truly believe in the sentiment. Friends really are the sunshine of life ūüôā

Challenges, Friendship cards

Friends and flowers.

Dear friends,

First off, I am so so happy to be back and connect with all of you’ll.

I know, I have been neglecting this blog for a couple of months but with good reason, I promise.

Not only the scores of restoration projects in the house but also in the courtyard and garage kept my hands full ~ literally ~ of spray paint and acrylics.¬† And then ofcourse, November/December are my peak months for craft classes as well as fairs. I have totally enjoyed the¬†6 fairs I participated it back to back thru out December ~ not to mention the greeting card orders that kept coming my way, until I had to stop being polite and¬†refuse some of the orders. Ok so noooooow, I can hear some of you asking, how did I manage to stuff so many projects at one time ! Well, there you go ! Now you understand why this lovely blog, was being so neglected. Having said that, I now have heaps of projects to share with you’ll.

Well, for one thing, my newest best-est friends are power tools ! Yes, I mean, the electric jigsaw, sander and drill machine. Since almost two months, I have been having a complete blast chopping wood, sanding the pieces and drilling holes in them. I have been making wooden plaques and I just cant begin to tell you just how much fun it has been playing with paints and patterns. I have heaps of projects to show you but thats ofcourse for a later post. Again, I hear you, asking me, how I had the time to get involved in a new hobby !! Well, what can I say ??? Thats Naush for you. When the going gets tough, I get so enthused about trying out so so many creative avenues. To be very honest, I think, its ¬†abnormal raging hormones ! ūüôā

This new year brings with it a promise ~ a promise of change. Whether a change is for the good or for the worse is for time to prove and our own attitudes to see the glass half empty or half full.  But I have always felt, change, especially when it is not gradual, is always for the best and its easier to adjust. I look forward to making a few crucial decisions and I look forward to a few crucial decisions made FOR me by the Almighty.  And I totally look forward to making more and more new friends.

For some of you wondering, how come, I dont reply in the comment column. ~ well, I actually do. I write back personal messages to the person concerned on their email address which is supplied while she leaves a message for me.  These comments are very close to me and are food for my creativity.  You guys who visit me so often and leave so much love behind are priceless for me. Honest.

I had to submitt around 80+ new cards for samples and I wished to share some of the surplus designs that I had made in the past 2-3 weeks.

This card here, has such gorgeous colors. Nothing like the green grass and being sourrounded by spring flowers and jewelled butterflies. The cute angel mom/lady tending to her garden is a digital stamp from my dear friend Nikki of Melonheadz. The ribbon is one of my newer additions and so is the Martha stewart border punch. Awesome heart warming sentiment which is digi stamp cut by oval diecut.  I know, this could also be an ideal valentines card, which is just around the corner.  Imagine receiving such a lovely message from a friend.

Eid Mubarak, Paper Piecing

Eid Greeting 3

And so finally, here we are at the third and final card that I designed for Eid. To know briefly about Eid, follow here.

About the card :-  Lots of elements in this one, included some border punches, two diecuts one of which is presented as a tag with the sentiment on it, brads, ribbons, and twine. The flower stamp is digital. The sentiment is by yours truly. Hope you guys like this one too.

These words below paper pieced words are arabic,  meaning:  Faith, knowledge, practise, prayer, deeds. They are a reminder of what we should hold onto to keep life simple, uncomplicated and a source of inspiration to others.

I am entering this card in the following card challenges :-

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you will return again. Till then, stay safe and keep having fun with creativity !

Altered Envelope turned Tag Book

Firstly, I am super excieted with the new theme that I chose for the blog. Love the bright and cheerful blue. WordPress has come up with some fabulous changes to the menu as well, which is making bloggin alot of fun and easy. Please feel free to give me your views about my blog’s new look.

What I am sharing with you today, is my first attempt at making a tag book. What really had me going was that I could finally recycle, which is what I “REALLY” enjoy. I have recycled some old envelopes here. I wish I had taken photos of how I actually fixed this project !¬† Basically I just folded three or four envelpes in half, slit one side open while I punched the other side with two holes and bind them with 2 eyelets. I know, its never simpl understanding someones direction so maybe I’ll one again with a tutorial.¬† But for now,¬†heres what I came up with. I wanted to keep the quotes/encouragement lines,¬†simple, short but inspirational. I had so much fun thinking of elements to relate to the specific quotes and going wild with paper, ribbons and colors !

I’ll let the pictures do all the talking from here.

Easel Card, Get Well soon ~ Card, Guy cards {non birthday}, Paper Piecing, Technique

Checkered Get well wishes.

Yeeeeeellow Ladies !!! And how was the month of May for you ? I hope with all the chaos in the world, we creative souls are taking good refuge burried under a pile of DS, copics, stamps and … list is too long.. {you get the picture, dont you ??}

Jokes apart, honestly, sometimes, its such a relief that ”¬†we¬† ” ¬†{ ladies who are nurturing and devoloping ¬†our creative desires} are so blessed to have found a fullfilling channel to keep us occupied constructively and help us release our emotions.¬†I cant imagine how time consuming and boring it must be to sit infront of the idiot box for hours or worse, spend hours gossiping in social kitties or perhaps even worse, not be able to enjoy or afford any hobby at all !!¬†

I have found so many dear friends thru the www world that have reached out for my friendship and really kept me going when at times you feel so lost and in despair.

Also many thanks to the scores of dear friends and visitors for always leaving such thoughtful comments behind. I look forward to them and read each one of them. They are such a joy. Infact, I know alot of people give out blog candies for number of hits on their blog, or the number of followers, they have, but for me, those comments make all the difference. Infact I think, it is getting time to probably make a candy, one of these days, probably when I reach xxx number of comments !!!!

The last two weeks have been so gratifying (artistically speaking !!) I have a heap of completed projects that I am going to share with you very soon. Some altered art, some wall hangings, some bookmarks, some new techniques and some cards. Ofcourse they will follow in posts, one after the other.

For today, I have a Get Well Soon, easel¬†card with plenty of layers. I completly love the design paper which I am using for the first time. I used a¬†lovely sketch from Mojo Monday which, I did not realize would be alittle tricky, but in the end, I am quite pleased with the effort. [ and ofcourse I am too late to submit my card for that¬†challenge ūüė¶¬† ] ¬†A beautiful fence digital stamp with two flower pots paper pieced to it. 3 Brads and a simple ribbon knotted around the sentiment. Ofcourse this is my new MS border punch, which I have absolutely completely insanely fallen-in-love with !! For those of you who own it, isnt the design simply fabulous¬†? and for those who havent picked them up so far, whats keeping you from them ???

I have made a deliberate effort at keeping the look more masculine with more muted colors and lots of distressing.

I hope this card brings a smile to the souls feeling under the weather.

World’s Best Bud.

What a day !!! Actually a nightmarish day. For someone who is petrified of dentist, the sight, sound and smell of a dentist’s clinic is nothing short of turning me hypertensive ! And to think of it that finally after suffering for over a year¬†with repeated infections in my wisdom tooth, I finally gave in to my doc, to have it removed !! Not in my wildest dreams did I know that It would turn out all so painful. Well the procedure was not so bad ~ what with two bouts of anesthesia and my tooth breaking in pieces¬†half way thru¬†!! ¬†But for whatever reason, 2 hours later, when the anesthesia was all drained is when the real pain dawned. And ho boy ! Did I wail and cry like a baby !!! For someone who has undergone 3 caesarians and battled alot of physical pain, tooth ache may seem small but honestly, It causes excruciating pain. And this is the point when your wondering, what has tooth ache gotta do with the world’s best bud !!!!! Well actually, nothing. Hey c’mon now, I just gave up my wisdom, I am bound to talk this way now ūüôā¬† Jokes apart. With a stronger dose of painkillers, I am much better now. Please feel free to share with me, your tooth removal¬†experiences. Why ? Well, it may make me feel better that I am not the only one who cries like a big baby over tooth ache !!

Ok anyway lets get on with the business of card making.

This is a relatively simple card. Super gorgeous flowery design paper. A cutsie old beetle car digi stamp image from Nikki and a simple message ~ which is what boys generally like. The ribbon is wrapped backwards with a simple button. While the front layer is embossed and attached with 3 blue brads. Somehow, inspite of the huge range of spellbinders in the market, somehow I am finding myself more attracted to the simple circular diecut, which I have layered here. The base of the circle die is a soft handmade blue paper with gold dots embossed on it. I would say this is a typically guy card. Subtle tones, check ribbon and button, and a short and crisp message that generally stands good for boys.
