Purse Card

This was my first attempt at creating a purse card. I just wish I would wisen up someday. If only I would have taken a template or measurements from somewhere .. but you know, when your just bubbling with inspiration at the craft desk, you dont want to run back to the computer and surf for some templates, it just kinda acts like a wet blanket. So I just improvised and used my own measurements. In the end, it turned out “not too bad”. I will surely want to try it out again, but differently and make a couple of more changes too. For now, this is my first purse card.

I focused more on getting the design right so less emphasis is made on the embellishments and stamping etc.

I’ll let you be the judge for this card.

  • Friendship cards, Inspirational card, Love messages ~ cards, Thank you card

    Thank you sunshine !

A couple of themes / elements that were the real inspiration for this card was one where, we hadda use a K for Key, and one where the project had a moving part and one which asked for pink, coffee brown and blue and one which asked for monochromatic colors.  So basically, this card was an attempt at meeting all these criterias and a few more.

Love Pink !! Always will.  Like some one once mentioned “Pink is an attitude !”  But seriously, its an easy color to please and lets almost colors gel in, especially if it has this gorgeous rushed pattern to it. I have incorportated, tiny flowers, and 3 very cute pink glassy butterflies. The rubberstamped  tweety bird is a real winner with me. He is so ideal for just about every sentiment except sorrow perhaps !  (He almost looks like he is singing outta joy !!!)   A pink wire is wrapped around the mettalic key.

The digi stamp sentiment, is super cute. This card is so versatile. Its ideal for almost all relationships. Mom/Dad to eachother, lovers, Kids to parents, parents to kids,  to teachers, great friends, collegues, classmates. Its a nice card to keep handy when you really want to show how much you appreciate someone in your life.

Down below is the set of challenges it enters but right now is the card itself.

Before I get on with the card display ~~  Ladies, again, I would really like to thank, all of you’ll wonderful souls, who left such heart warming comments for my previous, first time attempt at easel cards. Darlings, How would you know how much a tiny comment from you,  causes a ripple effect of inspirations upon inspirations. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting me and liking my creations.

The key is tied to the spiral wire so it actually hangs however the above picture is scanned and I could not get the key in its actual position falling downward coz it was in a scanner. To get a better idea, please see the slideshow.

    Birthday Cards, Birthday Cards Masculine

    Birthday Boy

Is it just me or do all children have the tendency to serve school notices just 5 mins before school bus ??!!  so frustrating at that rush hour of the morning, the notice comes screaming like a siren !!

Last night I set out to make a birthday card for Mr M, Eman’s class teacher. He is new to Dubai and hails from Ireland. That is just about when I realized I dont have many male oriented birthday cards.  So naturally I had a “valid excuse” for being cooped up for a  good hour and a half in the studio !

I dont know if it happens with most of you, but sometimes, I am so charged up that I can actually dole out  half a dozen  good cards in a night and sometimes, I spend the first 25 -30 minutes just looking frustratedly at the pile of papers or stamps or tools or all of it ! Sometimes there are so many wild and creative ideas bubbling up in my mind, that it  leaves me with none in hand ! Ever happened to you ?  So overwhelming.  I suppose its a ” Crafters Block ” if you may.

Last night was no different, I really had so much up my mind that I couldnt find the right direction.  Eventually though I did manage the card.

Well, except for the lacey border on the eggplant colored paper, I think this card feels right for the men folks. In any case, lets just hold the “thought that counts ” theory and be happy.

The mustardish paper with the black and pink dots is a first time for me and I really can begin to tell you how easy that print is to decorate. Some polka dots are difficult to arrange the other elements on.  Not this one.  This one was so sober. Everything just geled well with it.

Ceramic rusty leaves, cute beige buttons, a tag, a rubber stamped cupcake, and a digital image birthday sentiment. Alittle of paper layering and voila. The recipe is complete ! Enjoy.

Unfortunetly there arent any specific color challenges that this card qualifies. I dont wish to add this card again this week, for the button or lace challenges either. So here are the challenges that this card will enter :

The sketch is from Mojo Monday.

    Love messages ~ cards

Love Message 4~ with all my heart.

One Card ~ 4 challenges !! wow. thats a first for me 🙂

‘I love you with all my heart’ is a free digi stamp. I know I should start owing up to the digi making blogs owners that really help the likes of me, with all their goody freebies. So from today, I am going to try and find those lovely invisible friends who have so generously donated their digi stamps to us.  I’d really like for them to know how grateful I am for their gorgeous images and fantastic talent. Perhaps I will make a seperate post to name some of their sites once I have located them.

This card is entering 4 card challenges:

    2)  ~~ valentine theme with hearts and red/pink/blue/yellow colors.

    3) ~~ newest/neglected elements/paper.

Playing with Polka dots is fun but can be challenging especially if its red, which in many cases, it is generally. I have used two cute glittery hearts which I have had for long but used it twice today!  a satin checkered ribbon which has been lying around my stash like forever , and an embossed green base for the sentiment oval. All in all, did not want to experiment much becoz I wished the focus to remain on the sentiment and beside which the polka dots are very dominating in the entire card. So Voila !

Love Message 3 ~ nothing short of my everything !

What a cute sketch and since I am in all that “lovey dovey” mood, I wanted to keep this card all lovey too. A very cute porcupine with a super cute sponge filled fabric polka dot heart, and a heart warming message saying ” your nothing short of my everything” Wow ! How does the recepient respond when he/she receives such a card. I’d be all in tears … but thats just me ! An emotional fool, crying at happy endings and heart ‘burns’ 😉 I have used tiny metal hearts with Love engraved on them, after a very long time and I think, they fit perfectly.

Ok, so this challenge comes from :

and you’ll be amazed at the kind of fantastic cards the DT came up with for this challenges. Wow, a very creative bunch of gals !

Ok so here’s my card :
